Realizing the vision of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, OAAM stands as a vital cultural venue and must-see destination for Oman. It establishes a space that speaks to all Omanis about their country, its people, culture, and heritage.
Spanning 9,000 sqm, the expansive permanent exhibition showcases Oman’s journey from prehistory to modern renaissance, inspiring Omani youth to engage in shaping their country’s future.
Over a decade, the team transformed an idea into a masterplan, brief and design for a museum that brought the vision to life. The exhibition and architecture are designed to reflect and complement each other, narrating the country’s history cohesively. The museum features immersive, interactive galleries that transport visitors through time, along with a library, auditorium, and social and research spaces. Lauded for its design, it has been honored with a place on the World's Most Beautiful Museums List for 2024 by the Prix Versailles.
